Sea to Shore HistorySea to Shore Alliance (Sea2Shore) was created in 2008 to form a partnership of scientists and citizen volunteers with the expertise, passion, and vision to help reverse the degradation of our aquatic coastal environment and loss of species diversity. The goal is to better ensure the health and productivity of coastal ecosystems not only for the animal species that live there, but also the humans that depend on them for their health, recreation and livelihoods. Sea2Shore is strongly mission focused with four full time biologists working on a spectrum of issues ranging from the disappearance of manatee’s warm water sanctuaries to beach illumination hotspots around the state that reduce survival of hatching sea turtles.
