In 2008, Dr. James A. Powell, with a group of like-minded supporters and advisors, formed Sea to Shore Alliance, a Florida-based 501(c)(3).

The organization was created to fill what the group identified as a void in the international environmental science community. Sea to Shore Alliance has the unique ability to conduct exacting research science and apply it not only to the benefit of endangered species and their at-risk habitats but also the people who depend on those coastal resources for their livelihoods and recreation.

Each of our projects incorporates public outreach to bring our scientists together with local stakeholders to shape conservation initiatives, protections, and policies to protect the welfare, interests, and survival of all.
